Thomas Hampson

American, baritone. America’s leading baritone, Thomas Hampson, has been recognized for his versatility performing in opera, operetta, concert, musical, oratorio, and recital as well as research, achievements in the field of recording and pedagogy. Born in Elkhart, Indiana in 1955 he studied with Marietta Coyle, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Martial Singher, and Horst Günther. Hampson has made for himself an international career that takes him to all the world´s most prestigious opera houses and concert halls.
